A beautiful Pinot Noir straight from Wagram, Austria. This is a top winemaker. The wine is cherry red in color. On the nose, mainly cherry, red berries, and wild strawberries with a blend of spices. In the mouth, velvety smooth with a slight roasted touch and very juicy. A real gem for a fair price. This wine is aged for 12-18 months in selected Burgundian oak barrels.
Serve with:
This wine pairs perfectly with small game such as pheasant, wood pigeon, or partridge. Enjoying this wine on its own is also possible or with a cheese platter featuring red bacteria cheeses. Additionally, it complements any dish with a mushroom sauce very well. Serve at 16°-18°C.
Storage:
This wine is already delicious now, but it can also be stored for about 10 years. It will soften further and develop more mushroom and forest aromas.
Additional information:
For 25 years, the Leth family has been practicing environmentally responsible viticulture by not using herbicides and minimizing chemical plant protection. Thanks to the specific loess soil, irrigation is not necessary, grass cover keeps the soil healthy, and fertilization is unnecessary. The harvest is entirely manual with strict sorting, only the best grapes are used for the top wines.
The wine matures for 2.5 years in the bottle before it can be sold.
The Pinot Noir grape grows here on deep loess soil (sediment from the Danube river), with a very high limestone content.
Pinot Noir is the diva of all red wines, which is why the most sensitivity is required here. Due to cooler fermentation at around 26°C, the incomparable aroma is preserved. The contact time on the grape skin is only about two weeks to keep the tannins smoother. After that, only the very best barrels from Burgundy are good enough for Pinot, depending on the vintage, the aging time is between 15 - 22 months.
