Description

This Sancerre rosé from Domaine Roger & Didier Raimbault is made from 100% Pinot Noir, gently pressed immediately after harvest to obtain a clear, salmon-pink color with fresh, floral and fruity aromas. The wine opens with an inviting nose of red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry, and nectarine, subtly supported by a light citrus note. On the palate, it shows fresh acidity, lively fruitiness, and pleasant minerality, typical of Loire rosés. The wine has a light, elegant structure with a good length that invites a second glass.

The name “Les Belles Côtes” refers to the vineyard location and terroir in Sancerre:

“Côtes” literally means slopes or hillsides. In Sancerre, many vineyards are on steep hills along the Loire or on southern-facing slopes with excellent sunlight. These slopes are ideal for Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, providing optimal ripening and drainage of the grapes.

“Belles” means beautiful, highlighting the attractive location and quality of the vineyards.

4.1/5 Vivino

Serving suggestions:

  • Aperitif with crudités and charcuterie
  • Seafood and shellfish
  • Light salads and goat cheese
  • White meat and summer dishes

The combination of fruitiness and minerality makes it versatile at the table. Serve at 8°C.

Storage:
This wine is not meant for aging but will keep well for about 3 years; however, it is a shame to let it sit. Freshness is key.

Extra information:

Family estate with tradition
Domaine Roger & Didier Raimbault is a family-owned winery in Verdigny, in the heart of the Sancerre region in the Loire Valley. The Raimbault family has been working in the vineyards around Sancerre for generations and has built a strong reputation for viticulture in this terroir. Their vineyards cover approximately 17 hectares, with plots in Verdigny and Sury-en-Vaux, gradually acquired and carefully managed.

Vineyards and terroir
The vineyards are on slopes with limestone soils (“terres blanches”) and clay-limestone/gravel soils (“caillottes”), which contribute significantly to the minerality, freshness, and aromatic finesse of the estate’s wines. Different soil types help the Raimbaults balance fruit expression and structure in their wines.

Production and style
For their rosé, the Pinot Noir is gently pressed and, after settling, vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (17–18°C), preserving pure fruit and freshness. The wines are then prepared for bottling, respecting the classic Loire style and terroir expression.
