Description

A golden wine with a slight green hue in the glass. On the nose, aromas of baked apples, quince jelly, and passion fruit are surrounded by hints of orange zest. You will also detect a touch of white pepper, and the subtle oak influence mainly contributes to a full and rounded flavor. On the palate, this wine comes across as rich yet very fruity, with a mineral touch. The finish is splendid and very long. This wine will evolve beautifully with age. Truly a top-class wine!
4/5 on Vivino

Food pairing:
A perfect wine for shellfish and crustaceans (lobster, langoustines, ...). Cold seafood platters and grilled fish. Also excellent with soft cheeses and raclette.
In addition to all this, it pairs very well with veal and turkey.
Personally, I enjoy drinking this on a summer evening with some sushi bites.

Storage:
This wine is already very enjoyable now but can also be aged for around 10 years. It may last even longer depending on the cellar conditions and the vintage.

Additional information:
For over 25 years, the Leth family has practiced environmentally responsible viticulture, avoiding herbicides and minimizing chemical plant treatments. Thanks to the unique loess soils, no irrigation is needed. Grass cover keeps the soil healthy and eliminates the need for fertilization. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand with strict selection – only the best grapes are used for their premium wines.

This large vineyard allows for strict selection, meaning only the ripest and healthiest grapes are used. This wine is aged for one year in wooden barrels.
It is classified as a "1st Lage", which is comparable to a French Grand Cru. This is one of the flagship wines of the estate, and Grüner Veltliner is the pride of Austria.
Recognition:

This winery chooses not to participate in many wine competitions. However, it is worth mentioning that Weingut Leth is cited in the “Hugh Johnson Wine Guide” and the “Larousse Wine Encyclopedia” as one of the top producers in the region.
