Description

A beautiful light straw-yellow Prosecco with fine and persistent bubbles. This is an elegant and refined Prosecco, featuring primary aromas of apples, peaches, and a distinct floral acacia blossom. In the mouth, this bubble is fresh, fruity, and with a pleasant acidity. The finish is medium-long, highlighting the typical fruity flavor of Prosecco.

Serving:
Serve between 6-8° Celsius. Prosecco pairs well with the aperitif but also goes very well with fish. In addition, any reason is good to open a Prosecco! This Prosecco is not meant for aging and is recommended to be consumed within 24 months.

Additional Information:

Prosecco (also known as the Glera grape) is a white grape variety used to make Italian sparkling wine in an area about 50 km north of the city of Venice in the Veneto region. Especially north of Venice, we find the wine regions of the eastern part of Veneto, including the hills around Treviso. Here, in the town of Valdobbiadene, we find numerous producers of Prosecco, the very popular and light, lightly sparkling wine of this region, based on the Glera grape. Prosecco is originally a grape variety but is actually called Glera, like Chardonnay, but the name is often used to refer to the wine type.

Prosecco wine is made from the Glera grape and almost always according to a special method: the Charmat method or cuve close. The method involves the second fermentation taking place in a closed tank, where the carbon dioxide produced by that fermentation dissolves in the wine. Due to the much larger volume of the tank, this second fermentation will proceed much faster than, for example, champagne (which has a second fermentation in the bottle). This process gives the Prosecco wine its fresh, frothy mousse.

Most Proseccos have a slightly lower carbonation pressure (about 2.5 bar) and are also called 'Vino frizzante'. The bottle usually suffices with a sturdy cork with the familiar string (spago) around it. A crown cap or screw cap as a closure is also applied to frizzante wines. The alcohol percentage of these Proseccos is often around 10 to 11 percent.

Prosecco is also sold as 'spumante'. This wine has a slightly higher carbonation pressure (about 4 bar) and a bit more mousse, comparable to that of Champagne or Cremant. The bottles are usually stronger, and the closure is provided with a metal mesh (muselet) like champagne, for example.

Prosecco can be very good as an aperitif. Like Spanish cava and other cheaper sparkling wines, Prosecco is often consumed as an alternative to champagne. Some Proseccos can come close to the refined taste of a Champagne.
