Description

Fruity wine with creamy aromas of peach and a touch of citrus. The taste is intense yet delicate with nutty character infused with white stone fruit and creamy biscuit like a Champagne.
This MCC (Méthode Cap Classique) is made from 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay. The first fermentation lasts about 8 months and takes place in stainless steel tanks. 10% of the Chardonnay undergoes wood aging during this period. Then, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle for a whopping 96 months, giving this sparkling wine great depth. This sparkling wine is made like a Champagne and comes very close to fine Champagnes but at a fraction of the price.

Serve with:
Wonderful with food especially oysters, sushi, grilled salmon or other seafood dishes. Also, a splendid aperitif.

Storage:
This sparkling wine is not intended for aging as it has already undergone very long aging. It will certainly keep for several years.

Additional Information:

Located in the heart of the beautiful Robertson Valley – a valley of wines and roses – lies Bon Courage Estate, home to some of South Africa's finest wines and recognized both locally and internationally for their exceptional quality.

The stately Cape Dutch homestead dates back to 1818, and the estate has enjoyed the attention and dedication of three generations of the Bruwer family since 1927.

Today, the Robertson wine region is known for wines with great depth and concentration, a result of the ideal soil and climatic conditions prevailing in this region. Three rivers flow through the estate and have deposited a variety of different soil types on the farm over the years. This diversification of soil and microclimates allows a wide range of grape varieties to thrive in the same area. André Bruwer has recognized the fundamental truth that good wine originates primarily in the soil and has therefore invested much effort in matching the right cultivar with the ideal soil type.

Although 'tradition' plays a significant role at Bon Courage Estate, careful but extensive modernization has enabled the team to combine the best of traditional methods with those of modern times. This combination gives them more freedom and flexibility in creating the current and future Bon Courage wines.

Jacques Bruère - This range is named in honor of Bruwer's French Huguenot descent, the Bruères, who originated from the Loire Valley. They are made entirely by hand using the traditional "Champagne" method from start to finish.
