Description

A very beautiful deep red wine with purple hues indicating a high concentration. On the nose, very fine aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries, pepper, licorice, exotic spices, along with hints of tobacco, mocha, and after aging, leather and a slight smoky effect. You'll notice a very complex wine. On the palate, you'll experience a robust wine that is very elegant. You'll get a very long aromatic finish.
This wine screams for a delicious piece of meat.

Serve with:
Perfect wine to pair with hearty dishes of red meat (beef, juicy lamb). Also goes very well with a BBQ, especially with large pieces of roasted and spiced meat.
Serve at around 16-18°C and open this wine at least 45 to an hour in advance!

Cellaring:
This wine can certainly be cellared for several years. To be honest, I'm not sure how long because it's always gone very quickly.

Additional Information:
Chakana is a young company, its origin is only in 2002. This doesn't mean they just make something, of course. It's a very modern company that now produces 2 million liters of wine.
But the processing of the grapes and the upbringing is done as small-scale as possible. Not every vineyard is the same, of course. This way, intensive work is done towards quality.
The vineyard was founded in 2002 by the Argentine Juan Pelitsatte with Italian roots. He dedicated himself to winemaking and bought land for it in Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo. The great success of his wines lies in the terroir. The vineyard is located on the slopes of the Andes Mountains. In the evenings, it's cool, which results in a slower ripening process, creating a perfect balance of taste and depth in the wines.

Scores 16/20 with Jancis Robinson
