Description

Garnet red color with purple reflections. Nose of fresh red fruit (cherry, strawberry), black fruit (blackberry), and spices, accompanied by a slight vegetal structure typical of the grape variety. Pleasant on the palate with fine tannins.

Belles du Sud is one of the product lines of Domaines Auriol. The name Belles du Sud is, as the label indicates, inspired by a characteristic architectural element of the Languedoc, namely the three Gratiens decorated with an amphora or fruit basket that adorn the fountain in the main squares of many towns and villages. All Belles du Sud wines are single varietal wines. They are characterized by their fruity nature, making them ideal as house wines.

Serving:
Best consumed in the first years after bottling, pleasantly evolving for 3 to 4 years. Serving temperature: 16°C

Storage:
Pairs well with smoked charcuterie, roasted and grilled meats, vegetable gratins, and mild cheeses. You can also enjoy it alone, while reading a good book or chatting with friends.

Additional Information:

Grape Varieties: 100% Merlot

Terroir: Vineyard located on the high terraces bordering the Mediterranean coast of the Béziers terraces. It benefits from a Mediterranean climate tempered by altitude and exposure, promoting the aromatic development of the grapes during ripening, allowing for the production of a range of wines with varied profiles.

Viticulture: Great attention is paid to vineyard management and grape health. Pruned in Cordon de Royat.

Winemaking: Mechanical harvesting according to strict terroir selection, taking into account the ripeness of each plot. The grapes are fully destemmed before fermentation. Fermentation takes place in lined tanks, with particular attention paid to fermentation temperatures, with daily pumpovers. The draining is done before the end of fermentation, to finish in the liquid phase to obtain fine tannins and good fruit.
