Description

A magnificent purple-red wine in your glass. In the nose, a beautiful array of somewhat complex aromas such as red fruit, spices, and also a touch of vanilla. On the palate, this wine is balanced, gentle, and smooth. The finish is medium-long with hints of brioche. In short, an ideal BBQ or friends wine, not too complex and simply delicious with good value for money in an attractive bottle.

A 'Marcel' is French for a sleeveless shirt. Just like the shirt, Le Marcel Rouge from Domaines Paul Mas is relaxed, straightforward, and summery. Each bottle of Le Marcel has a label in the shape of a shirt.

Serving:
This wine pairs perfectly with grilled red meat but also with pasta dishes and soft cheeses. Serve this wine from 16 degrees Celsius, but on a hot day, feel free to serve it slightly cooler.

Storage:
The wine is not intended for aging. It will remain good for 2-4 years but will not evolve.
Additional Information:
Paul Mas is a well-known house and produces very good wines: Watch a video about the domain here.

Les Domaines Paul Mas are led by Jean Claude Mas, son of founder Paul Mas. They own a total of 700 hectares of vineyards in Languedoc in the South of France, with an additional 1200 hectares under contract. The vineyards are located near the sea. They are planted with Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carignan, and Cinsault for red and rosé wines. For white wines, Jean Claude has planted Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Each wine has its own identity and brings out the best of the terroir. The philosophy of the house of Paul Mas is aimed at preserving the typicity of soil and grape variety, while presenting a wine that meets the expectations of today's wine lovers: lots of fruit, concentration, color, aroma, and flavor.
Languedoc-Roussillon was the first region in France to be planted with vines by the Romans when they first arrived in the country. Old bush vines scattered throughout the region produce wines with concentration and depth, which can age for many years, while vineyards along the coast produce beautiful fresh and sweet white and rosé wines, perfect for long summer evenings.
