A very deep cherry-red to ruby-red wine. This wine can be described as complex on the nose, with aromas including licorice, chocolate, sweet spices, black pepper, and lots of red fruit. There's also a smoky note in this wine that reminds some of barbecue. In the mouth, this is a very concentrated wine (due to the Amarone process) with very refined tannins that make it very soft yet full. This wine has a score of 93/100 by Parker!
Serve with:
This is a wine that can be served with a wide variety of dishes. On one hand, I recommend a nice piece of meat from the barbecue or even a piece of smoked meat. Additionally, it pairs very nicely with a game dish with a beautiful cranberry sauce, for example.
If you have a cheese platter at hand, be sure to try this wine with the mature cheeses, a real delight!
If you have a truffle dish, be sure to pair it with this wine as well.
Cellaring:
This wine can easily be cellared until 2045!
Additional Information:
This wine is made from corvina, rondinella, and molinara grapes. Only the best grapes are used for this wine. After being harvested and selected manually in September and October, the grapes are first naturally dried for about three months. The wine is then made at the end of January, with fermentation lasting about 30 days. The wine is further aged for about 2 years in new, 500-liter, French oak barrels. After bottling, the wine undergoes further aging on the bottle for about 6 months in the cellars of the estate.
Information about the winery will be provided on the tasting sheet.
