Description

Deep cherry-red wine with a ruby-red rim. On the nose, plenty of fruit emerges with a dried character (due to the ripasso element), accompanied by a clear, soft wooden note and a refined spiciness. This is the little brother of an Amarone but at a much more affordable price. On the palate, a robust and juicy wine with the necessary complex elements. The finish is long and above all very pleasant! Once you taste this wine, you will understand what a ripasso is!
4.3 out of 5 on Vivino

Serving suggestions:
Pairs excellently with risotto with mushrooms, red meat such as grilled steak, or white meat such as stewed rabbit. It is also delicious with hard cheeses with a fruity touch, such as Manchego or Comté.

Storage:
This wine can still be stored for a while (max 10 years) but is definitely ready to drink now!

Additional information:
This Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso is made from 65% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, and 10% other grape varieties.
The aging of this wine takes place in oak barrels of 500 or 1000 liters for a period of 18 months.
The vineyard is located at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, with a terroir of limestone-fossil formations, specifically red flakes and biancone marble. The selection of grapes and harvest is done manually during the last two weeks of September to achieve perfect ripening of the clusters.

This wine is produced by Paladin:
Paladin Vigne e Vini is the first winery of the entire Casa Paladin group. It is a family business founded in 1962 by our father in Motta di Livenza, near Treviso. It is located at the borders of the Venetian land, where we moved in the mid-70s, in Annone Veneto, a historic village along the ancient Roman road to Postumia. The passion and love for wine come from our father, Valentino, who followed his grandfather since childhood in the vineyards and the cellar.

Passion, research, dedication, and respect for traditions are the core values that have guided his philosophy since he created his own cellar. He was determined to enhance the territorial identity of our Lison-Pramaggiore area by producing excellent wines.
