A classic Bordeaux with a cherry-red color and a violet hue. In the aroma, you will primarily find blackberries and cherries, as this wine is bursting with fruit from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes. The taste is delightfully round and creamy, with plenty of juicy young black fruit. Blackberries, blackcurrants, and a hint of laurel are discernible in the flavor. A very good glass of wine at this attractive price, and it has been awarded a gold medal for several years.
Serving:
This wine pairs perfectly with a juicy piece of red meat. Poultry or a barbecue are also suitable for this wine. Enjoy it without food when you feel like a glass of red wine. Serve at 16-17°C.
Storage:
You can store this wine for another 5 years.

Chateau Toutigeac - Bordeaux from PEUCH ET BESSE on Vimeo.
Château Toutigeac is located in the municipality of Targon, in the middle of Entre-Deux-Mers, on the right bank of the Garonne in the Bordeaux region. Those who have visited may remember the maze of roads around the church and perhaps the village restaurant "Le Lion d'Or," where one can eat excellently at an amiable price. The Toutigeac vineyard was purchased by grandfather René Mazeau in 1956 after the sale of Ch. Lascombes - a Second Growth Grand Cru Classé in Margaux. At that time, there was no money to be made for these big names of today, while the semi-sweet white Entre-Deux-Mers wines were particularly popular.
Now, almost sixty years later, Philippe and Oriane Mazeau run the château, which owns 40 hectares of vineyards. Philippe produces excellent red and white wine. The white wines are extremely fruity, refreshingly fresh, and thirst-quenching. The red wines are also fruity and quickly drinkable because the grape skins are fermented for a short time. When the harvest year is a bit lean, the grapes are briefly heated to 60 degrees Celsius after picking. This ensures optimal extraction of color from the skins, while harsh tannins are much less present in the wine. Château Toutigeac has a wonderfully creamy taste, never harsh or capricious, and is therefore almost immediately good tasting after bottling. The wine is easy to store: three to five additional years provide further development of bouquet and flavor.
