Description

It is straw yellow with a slightly greenish tint. On the nose, you will find floral notes (acacia, jasmine), citrus & exotic fruits such as grapefruit, orange, pineapple, pear, and mango. This wine is light straw in color. Aromas of white peach, grapefruit — overall fruity on the nose. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, light-bodied, with clear acidity that keeps the wine elegant. Flavor accents of citrus and tropical fruits, often a subtle Italian bitterness in the finish. The finish is refreshing, pleasant, and lightly fruity, perfect to drink young as an aperitif or with light dishes. Excellent Vivino score for this price.
4.2/5 Vivino

Serving suggestions:
Pairs particularly well with light fish or seafood dishes, shellfish, vegetables, salads, light pasta, risottos, antipasti, or simply as an aperitif. Serve at 10-12°C.

Cellaring:
This wine is ready to drink. It can be kept in the cellar for a few more years but will not improve further.

Additional information:

Tenuta Sant'AntonioHistory
The estate Tenuta Sant'Antonio was established in the 1980s by brothers Armando Castagnedi, Tiziano Castagnedi, Paolo Castagnedi, and Massimo Castagnedi. They inherited vineyards in the Valpolicella region, and expansions followed.

In 2006, they launched the “Scaia” label — to use their grapes, terroir, and ambitions for modern, fresh wines outside the traditional DOC systems.

Region & Terroir
The vineyards are located in the province of Verona, in hilly areas between municipalities such as Colognola ai Colli, Illasi, and Mezzane di Sotto.

The soil is rich in limestone and “scaglia-like” — with chalk and small stones. Hence the name “Scaia” (Venetian dialect for “splinter/chalk shard”) — this terroir contributes to the freshness, minerality, and expression of the wines.

Philosophy & Style
Tenuta Sant’Antonio / Scaia aims for a modern wine style: fresh, pure, aromatic, and precise — without excessive oak or overripe fruit.
Wines are approachable, fruit-driven, respecting the grape and terroir; generally light & refreshing wines — ideal for everyday use, aperitifs, or light meals.

Production & Scale
The estate manages several hectares of vineyards — with both white and red varieties (for traditional Veneto wines such as Valpolicella, etc.) alongside the “Scaia” line.
