A deep cherry red wine, a typical example of how a soft Lalande de Pomerol quality wine should be. You smell very pure aromas of ripe red fruit that will become more dried with age. Additionally, there's a beautiful spiciness as well as undergrowth with a fine vanilla touch. In the mouth, it's a meaty wine with an elegant round texture, smoky soft tannins, and a very long finish. Aged for 18 months in oak barrels, one-third of which is replaced every year.
Serve with:
This wine pairs perfectly with a lamb dish or any other dish with red meat. Open this wine a few hours before serving. Decanting this wine is definitely recommended! Serve at 16-18°C.
Cellaring:
Cellaring potential of 7 years, depending on the vintage, some cellar this wine for 20 years in a good wine cellar. The wine will further evolve and become even rounder and softer without losing its full flavor.
Additional Information:
The Garraud vineyards were created in the mid-19th century by Count de Kermartin and appear in Le Féré from 1868. More information will be provided upon purchase of this wine.
