Bela-Bela means "the pot that boils" in Tswana. It is a small town in Limpopo, a province in South Africa, known until 2002 as "Warmbaths" in English and "Warmbad" in Afrikaans, thanks to the geothermal springs.
The World of Wine team immediately liked the name because the word "bella" is internationally connected to beauty. Since we highly appreciate the beauty of South African nature and wines in particular, and because when drinking wine, memories of the good things in life always come into play, we found this name fitting.
All Bela-Bela wines were specially handcrafted on request from World of Wine Belgium in the Nuy Valley, at the foot of the Langeberg mountain range, in Worcester, Western Cape, South Africa.
The Bela-Bela wines are made by C.P.Conradie, winemaker of the family boutique winery Conradie Penhill. He is the best winemaker of the year, an award he has received for the 2nd time in 5 years. The estate is located in the Nuy Valley, at the foot of the famous Langeberg Mountains, between Worcester and Robertson.
Chenin Blanc is a grape variety very important in South Africa, and it is also where this grape variety is most planted in the world. The grape variety is known there under the synonym "steen." The grape variety is originally French, from the Loire region.

Let's start with an introduction: delicate, fresh (lime) fruity, a hint of grapefruit. A beautiful, fragrant, refined aperitif wine, with a subtle bitterness, nicely balanced, making it a delightful drink. Fresh and dry in the mouth, with a crisp and lingering finish. Comes from the Western Cape of South Africa. Excellent value for money wine! This wine was also included by the late Frank van der Auwere as one of the 300 best wines under €10.
