Description

This wine has a beautiful golden color and offers a very expressive nose with ripe white fruit such as acacia, peach, apricot, exotic fruit with a toasted character note. On the palate, you will experience a rich, full-bodied, yet harmonious taste where the sweetness and acidity are beautifully balanced. This wine was much sweeter before 2017 and is now more balanced, which is why the label now reads medium sweet wine.

Serving:
This velvety sweet wine pairs very well with fruit desserts. When aged a bit, this wine will certainly also appeal with foie gras and blue cheeses such as Roquefort, Bleu de Bresse, ... Serve around 8-10°C.
However, it can also be perfect as an aperitif, but then serve very chilled. The cooler, the less the sweetness will come through. If you want more explanation about serving and tasting, follow one of my courses.

Storage:
This sweet white wine can be stored for up to 20 years. It will become smoother over time.

Additional Information:

No photo description available. The Vergnac family, winegrowers for 4 generations in Sigoulès in the Dordogne, offers you their selection of AOP wines from Bergerac & Monbazillac and their wines from France.

An estate undergoing organic conversion in the heart of the Dordogne, spanning fifty hectares.

They are proud to be winemakers with a love for their land, their ancestors, and their work.
In Sigoulès, at Château Mautain, there have been winemakers for almost 4 generations, and before that, cattle farmers. It is just one family that keeps this know-how alive, the Vergnac family.
Today, it is Sandrine, Karine, Régis, and Loïc who will welcome you. In the past, it was Louise, Hubert, Chantal, and Alain who were the pioneers of what you now know. Since then, the estate has evolved and, under the impetus of Régis, the company changed direction in 1995 and became fully independent. Previously, they were wine merchants in the cellar of Sigoulès, but the step was taken, and Château Mautain was born. For more than 25 years, the wine has been produced in the estate's cellar.

They cultivate the vineyard with the same art rules, with the same desire, the same rigor, and the same goal, the sustainability of the property. It is a long-term job that unites them.

They started the organic process almost two years ago and are now in the process of conversion.
