Description

In your glass, a beautiful garnet red wine. On the nose, lots of red fruits like strawberries, cherries, and red berries, followed by dark fruit, oak, cherries, tobacco, and earthy notes. On the palate, you'll find dark chocolate, a touch of pepper, berries, vanilla, and leather. Silky-soft tannins, nicely balanced with a light acidity and dark chocolate in the velvety and long finish.
4.1/5 on Vivino
Serving suggestion:
This wine pairs beautifully with duck breast, rack of lamb, entrecôte, etc. We recommend opening it several hours before serving. Decanting is highly recommended! Serve at 18°C.

Cellaring:
This wine is just reaching its peak but can be cellared until 2035, so there's still time. It will continue to evolve, developing aromas like toast, cedar, vanilla, mushroom, etc. As with any wine, it's wise to open a bottle around 2025–2028–2031 to check its development.

Additional information:
This 18th-century château is named after its illustrious owner Jean Baptiste Lavau de Cravignac, a parliamentary lawyer. It was passed down from generation to generation, and in the early 20th century, the name was officially changed to La Fleur Cravignac in the national registry. In 2021, the estate was acquired by Karine and Jean de Colbert, also known from Château de Brézé and Château de la Commanderie. They immediately modernized the cellars and introduced strict quality control. All vineyards are cultivated with great respect for nature and hold official organic certification. The concrete fermentation tanks are fully temperature-regulated, and the wine is partly aged in new oak barrels and partly in amphorae, blending tradition with modern innovation. The wine is beautifully pure in character and shows remarkable balance.
Made from 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
