Description

Deep ruby red wine from Portugal's Douro region. We have a complex nose with lots of red fruits, wood aromas, and vanilla toast from a long aging of 18 months in oak barrels as well as chocolate. In the mouth, a complex wine emerges. Fairly intense and very mouth-filling, in short, a nice celebration. The finish of this wine is long and very balanced due to beautiful ripe tannins. In short, a beautiful wine from Portugal that will certainly please many wine connoisseurs!

Serving with:
This wine pairs well with stews, complex BBQs, game, and also with older hard cheeses.

Storage:
This wine can certainly spend about 9 years in the cellar. This wine will evolve over time, with the fruit becoming more dried. Notes of mushrooms will also emerge.
Note that this wine will show a slight sedimentation after a few years due to its intensity and must be decanted.

Additional Information:
The Douro Valley is one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world and is recognized as a UNESCO heritage site. Vallegre is a young and dynamic company that produces both Port wines and regular wines on various estates along the Douro. All vineyards are located on the right bank near the town of Pinhão. This Vallegre Branco is made from local grape varieties, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão. Unknown to most of us, but that's what gives Portuguese wines an original touch. After fermentation, the wine ages for another 9 months in French oak barrels, with regular plunging of the skins into the juice (remontage) to give the wine a full flavor.
From Quinta da Vista Alegre, Cima Corgo, where few vineyards are more than 80 years old, planted on old platforms predominantly exposed to the south, and other vineyards, 25 years old, on new platforms mainly exposed to the east.
Hand-picked and transported in small crates with careful selection of grapes. Total destemming, fermentation with moderate temperature control in stainless steel tanks with daily pumping over (remontage) and long maceration after fermentation.
