- San Esteban in Situ gran reserva Carmènére
A Gran Reserva Carmenère from Chile with a stunning deep ruby color. It has been aged in oak barrels for 12 months, resulting in a round wine with beautiful ripe and soft tannins. On the nose, we find complex aromas of fruit, especially blueberries, along with dried flowers, pepper, cassis, and cocoa. On the palate, it is a smooth wine with soft ripe tannins, a deep body, and an amazing long finish as an aftertaste. An ideal wine for the festive table with a piece of game, but especially to be enjoyed with good friends!
Serving & Storage:
Very nice wine with spicy game dishes but also with spicy meat or a barbecue. It is recommended to open it at least an hour and a half before serving.
Can be easily stored for about 8 more years in a cool place, but can also be consumed now depending on your preference. The older it gets, the more this wine can be enjoyed without a matching meal.

Additional Information:
Viña San Esteban was founded by José Vincent and his son Horacio, who learned the trade in Bordeaux. He worked at Château Mouton Rothschild and Mouton Cadet.
In Situ Reserva Chardonnay is a wine produced with grapes from plots located on the banks of the Aconcagua River soil. They offer sandy, well-drained soil with low fertility. The altitude of 800 meters allows for progressive and gradual ripening, while the cold glacier water from the river ensures sufficient cooling during the hot summer months, ensuring elegance and complexity in this Chardonnay from the Aconcagua Valley.
Viña San Esteban Viña San Esteban, founded in 1974 by José Vincente, is considered the pioneer of hillside viticulture. His son Horacio, a Bordeaux-trained winemaker who worked with Château Mouton Rothschild and Mouton Cadet, promoted quality. They now have 120 hectares of vineyards along the Aconcagua River and on the foothills of the Andes.
In Situ Reserva is a limited production of the best vines from the Paidahuen hill of the San Esteban winery. A specific terroir where the interaction between soil, climate, and grape gives a unique identity to each wine. For hundreds of years, the slopes of this hill (1150 meters) have been a meeting place for the Indians of the Aconcagua Valley. Today, the ethnic rock paintings of the archaeological site on the hilltop above the vineyards are evidence of this. Hence In Situ and also the symbolism on the bottle.
Vinification of this wine: Handpicked harvest fermented at 28 degrees in stainless steel tanks, the wine then undergoes a maceration of 18 days to develop fullness and structure. Then it is aged in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels of 225 liters for 12 months to round off the texture of the tannins. After bottling, the wine is stored in bottles for another 6 months.
