Description

The almost roasted nuances dominate the nose and give this wine a lot of personality. The taste is fresh, with notes of roasted almonds and dried fruit in general. There are also some nuances of ripe white fruit. The finish even has a pleasant, slightly honeyed tendency. A fairly structured wine, quite long, and charming overall. Made from 100% Chardonnay. Excellent value for money.
3.9/5 on Vivino

Great with Bouillabaisse, grilled fish, cold fish, or fish soup.

Additional Information:
Domaine Daniel Pollier has been producing white wines in Mâcon since the 18th century, with current Chardonnay plantings in the appellations of Mâcon Fuissé, Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran, Mâcon Chaintré, and Pouilly-Fuissé, the latter aiming for Premier Cru status in the coming years. The estate consists of 13 hectares. All wines are made exclusively from their own grapes, with vines averaging 40 years, some impressively reaching 70 years. The vines are planted between 250 and 300 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils, with optimal southern and southeastern exposure.

This artisanal estate has been passed down from father to son for four generations, with the fifth generation currently in training. Far from the larger négociants and cooperatives that occupy a significant part of the region, Domaine Daniel Pollier is a team of three, including owner and founder Daniel Pollier, Daniel's 22-year-old son Alexis (who recently opened his own winery down the street), and Jean Noel, the estate’s viticultural worker, or simply the winemaker. Together, the three men cultivate the family’s 13 hectares of Chardonnay, including a small plot in Beaujolais for rosé wines made from Gamay.
