Vranec literally means "dark stallion", and that perfectly expresses what we can expect from this wine. In the Western Balkans, vranec is the undisputed king of all wine grapes. It is a dry red wine with an intense dark ruby color, with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, and dried plums, enriched with ripe notes of cedarwood and coffee. On the palate, we taste intense black cherries, supported by hints of aged leather, fresh acidity, and great ripeness. The wine has a rich full body with soft tannins and a uniquely long finish.
4/5 Vivino
Serving:
Enjoy with lamb, veal, pork, minced meat, and grilled red meats — for example, at a barbecue.
Storage:
This wine can be stored for several years and will develop slightly over time. However, it is not a true aging wine. When young, the fruity aromas are very pleasant. As it matures, these aromas will gradually fade into the background.
Additional Information:

North Macedonia is not very well known to us, but it is a very old wine region with many indigenous grape varieties. This wine was the best-selling one.
