Description

Beautiful golden wine in your glass. On the nose, you'll detect ginger, lots of dried fruit like clementine, peach, apricot, and other exotic fruits, along with honey and nuts. On the palate, you'll experience flavors of caramel, honey, and plenty of dried fruit. This wine will give you a soft, full velvet sensation with a long, complex finish.
This top-quality product is made 100% from the Furmint grape, a Hungarian variety primarily used for making dry white wines. For this dessert wine, the grapes were left to ripen on the vines for a long time, allowing the sugars to accumulate richly. After fermentation in new oak barrels, this liquid gold was aged for another 36 months in old oak barrels. This is a bargain you can keep for a long time.

Serving suggestions:
Serve as an aperitif, with dessert, with foie gras, and even as a companion to game dishes and blue cheeses like stilton or roquefort. Once opened, the bottle can be kept for several weeks in the refrigerator or wine fridge (preferably in the dark).

Storage:
This wine is ready to drink now but can be kept for many decades, not just years. It will continue to develop in the bottle.

Additional information:
Of all the Eastern European countries, Hungary can be proud to have a truly world-famous wine of the highest quality: Tokaji Aszú, which Louis XIV called "the wine of kings, the king of wines." The climatic conditions here are similar to those in the Sauternes region of France, but this wine is not comparable to a Sauternes.

The native Furmint and Hárslevelű grapes concentrate their sugar content in the autumn through noble rot (botrytis cinerea).
The botrytis-affected grapes are harvested one by one and collected in 25 kg barrels called puttonyos.
A paste is made from them and added to the must of 136 liters of base wine of the highest quality, already containing a residual sugar content.

The number of added puttonyos—3, 4, 5, or 6—determines the sweetness and price.
3 puttonyos: 60 to 90 g/l of residual sugar
4 puttonyos: 90 to 120 g/l
5 puttonyos: 120 to 150 g/l
6 puttonyos > 150 g/l
But against this high residual sugar content stands mild acidity. Together, they ensure balance and harmony.

This wine has a very high acidity level (11.5 grams per liter) but is perfectly balanced with 150 grams of residual sugar.

Mysterious Mount Tokaj... seen from above, it rises above the autumn mist, its slopes shimmering with golden vineyards, and its peak overlooks the vast Hungarian plain to the distant southern horizon. On clear days, you can even see Slovakia and Ukraine. The undisputed king of Hungarian vineyards, Mount Tokaj is located in the north of the country, 230 km east of Budapest. This legendary place produces exceptional wines, served at the court of Louis XIV, who called Tokaj "the King of Wines and the Wine of Kings."
