The second wine of the domaine Vieux Télégraphe. This is the brother of the mythical wine; however, what here is a second wine of the domaine is for many wine lovers a top wine. In the nose, the wine is full of black fruit, cedar, spices, and vanilla. In the mouth, the same complex characteristics come to the fore. This wine is very smooth, round, and soft on the palate. A very good wine that should be drunk especially in its youthful years. Youthful here means the first 10 years.
Serve with:
This wine pairs perfectly with a nice piece of red meat such as a filet mignon or a ribeye, for example. Open this wine a few hours before serving.
Serve at 17°C.
Cellaring:
Can be kept for about 10 years, in some vintages longer, although it is not made for this purpose.
Additional Information:
This wine is made from vines of at least 40 years old. The vines that are less than 30 years old are located where the grapes for the Vieux Télégraphe come from. The grapes are further supplemented with grapes from other plots that are at least 40 years old.The grapes are harvested manually and sorted twice in the field and once on the estate.
The wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels and, just like its big brother, is bottled unfiltered.
