There is more than just a great wine in a bottle from Bodegas Otero. It is the result of over a century of winegrowers and producers who have cultivated vines with great determination to produce, with their own specific style, the unique wines of the Valles de Benavente.
The work philosophy and adaptation to changes in the wine production market have always been present throughout our more than 100 years of history. Since Mr. Juan Otero started his underground winery and opened a small shop in 1906, until Julio Otero appeared in 1984, not forgetting Mr. Manuel Otero, who achieved significant expansion in 1951 by incorporating the most pioneering techniques of the time, the winery has always combined tradition and innovation thanks to the passion, dedication, and adaptation of three generations of wine producers.
After Mr. Julio Otero joined the winery following the completion of his education in Wine Studies and Economics, he focused on the production of internationally recognized quality wines, thanks to the expansion of the Otero brand beyond our borders. The history of Otero Winery is characterized by a love for our land and meticulous attention to every detail of the winemaking process. This is what makes our wines special, unique, and rich in history and tradition.
