Description

Beautiful dark red wine. A powerful and complex nose in which ripe red and black fruits are combined with spicy notes. The taste has a beautiful structure and excellent balance. The tannins are fine and silky smooth. What makes this Châteauneuf exceptional? It has had no oak aging, allowing you to taste the pure fruit and terroir.
 4.2/5 on Vivino

Serving suggestions:
This wine pairs excellently with roasted or stewed meat, game, and aged cheeses. It is recommended to open this wine a few hours before serving. Decanting or aerating the wine depending on the age of the bottle is certainly recommended! Serve at 17°C.

Storage:
Can be stored for at least 10 years and will be ready to drink from the third year. It will continue to improve over the years. This 2016 vintage is drinkable now, and if you purchase six bottles, I would definitely recommend tasting one already, though it is not yet at its peak.

Additional information:
Producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1925.
Le Cellier Des Princes takes its name from the prestigious history of the Princes of Orange.
One of them, William I, who was also known as "the Silent" due to his reserved nature, perfectly illustrates the character of the winemakers of CELLIER DES PRINCES.

Men for whom actions speak louder than words, winemakers who wrote the history of CELLIER DES PRINCES.

In 1925, a group of winemakers united, convinced by the values of solidarity and mutual assistance. Eleven years later, these visionary winemakers contributed to the creation of France’s first appellation: CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE.

In the 1960s, the second generation of CELLIER DES PRINCES winemakers anticipated the leisure society and the development of wine tourism by establishing the CELLIER DES PRINCES wine tasting cellar along the RN7 highway.

CELLIER DES PRINCES has been a loyal partner of the best auction houses in the Rhône and Burgundy regions, selling CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE for many years. For decades, CELLIER DES PRINCES has been selling CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE directly from its vineyard.

The exceptional quality of the terroirs of CELLIER DES PRINCES produces not only CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE but also CÔTES-DU-RHÔNE wines with rare qualities that command prices far above market value. Business is thriving.

The fluctuating price of CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE varies, and winemakers adapt accordingly, but only to a certain extent. In the early 2000s, prices reached their lowest point, leading to unrest.

During the 2005 general assembly, the board of directors was dismissed, the president was removed, and a new order was established.

For decades, CELLIER DES PRINCES had been a shadow producer of a prestigious wine that did not bear its name, but now it is taking its fate into its own hands.

The winemakers decided to bottle their own wine and sell it directly under the CELLIER DES PRINCES brand.

In less than 10 years, sales of CELLIER DES PRINCES bottles have increased sixfold and now account for 96% of total production.

The winemakers of CELLIER DES PRINCES remain closely connected and are proud today that their wines are appreciated on five continents, allowing them to share their values of conviviality and excellence.
